“Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.’
For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His (Hebrews 4:7b-10 NKJ).”
I can only imagine God’s rest after completing His creation work…
I perceive Psalmist, King David’s rest, as conveyed through his words of Psalm 23.
I rejoice in Christ Jesus; He freed me from a salvation by works, inviting me to enter His rest.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJ).”
Rest, rest…just the word brings a calming peace.

Such an encouraging word for the end of the workweek. I think resting feels best after I’ve completed a project or done a hard day’s work…and I’ve never done anything as huge as creating a world.
